Catch My Recovery....

The vox reminds me a J Masicus (Dino Jr.)

The rest sounds fine, im not a fan of any of the snare sounds i heard, but thats a pref thing i suppose.

Is this pro mastered?

i like it.

my only nitpick is the drums sound garagey while everything else doesn't.

They all sound pretty good. I agree about the drums. They don't seem to fit the rest of the music. Everything is right up front and clean but the drums kind of sit back and sound a little too roomy like they were recorded with only overheads. Good songs though. Nice groove to most of that stuff. Really like "Bastard Son". Good work. :)

No. I recorded and mixed it in my garage.

Right. I cant say i didnt see that coming. :D

They would be well rounded tracks with a good mastering imo.

I think everyone is forgeting the fact that these are 128 bit mp3's. The loss in audio quality is very evident between the Soundclick stuff and the original disc it was recorded to.

Really dig this....vocals remind me of Joe Walsh...tune has a cool swaggering vibe to it....can't really offer mix comments as I'm listening on some crappy speakers at work....al I can say is it's really catchy and rocks well!! ;)

Woops...forgot to mention that "Catch My Recovery" was the tune I listened to :o

I think the vocals and snare could use more meat. There's something with the kick that's bothering me, but I can't really tell where it is frequency wise- it seems you could cut somewhere a few db. I'm hearing the kick as sounding "bubbly", which I know doesn't make sense to anyone else. I'm gunna guess 350-425hz but it's super hard for me to tell.

You need to learn how to mix drums, you stupid, stupid, lazy mother-fucker.

Probably my favorite of your songs, though. It's just so fucking hard to listen to it with those shittily mixed drums. Gawd you suck.

I didnt forget.

I just think if you sent it to a great mastering dude, it would improve some.

Nonetheless, this is a great effort. :)

What do you track to?

When I started posting tunes everyone said how my drums were too roomy. They sounded OK to me, but I had to admit eventually that that's not how they mix em on the record. So now I cheat like a mofo and eq/compress the bejesus out of them to mask their origins.

When people talk about roomy drums, they're primarily talking about the snare, and to a lesser extent the kick. In this tune, the snare is the main culprit - it's got a boxy kind of ring to it.

Cool tune though. Great vocals

I started working on the mix. I'll post the new one after the weekend when my ears are fresher and I'm more rested.

I usually only spend less than 30 minutes on mixing a song, and I usually do it right after I finish tracking, which I know I shouldn't do.

Fuck you Willis...I hatge you..... :p

This sounds pretty good to me. (I'm on phones right now, as I'm away from home...)

Song is cool....I do hear the Walsh references....but I like him.... :D

Drums don't bother me as I hear them....but remember, phones man... :o

Nice bassline. Good tone. I like the guitars also...good tone, and choice of notes.

Also...I like the length. You cut it a bit short, so I wanted more. You left me hanging. ;)

When you get a CD's worth, I want it.....you make some fun tunes.

I finally listen to your fucking song and you go silent! :D

Sorry, man. More pet drama at the house this evening. For some reason, abandoned and lost animals find me and know I'll make it okay. :o

Thanks, Dogman.

When you get to your normal listening station, will you do me a favor and listen to this one again and compare it with the one I posted at RP?

This one's an mp3, the one over there is a .wav. I want fresh ears to tell me if they can hear a difference.

Sure man....

What's the pet drama? All of our pets are lost or abandoned ones...
