Carvin vs Roland 1680 mic pre's?

I will be recording a four-piece this weekend. I will be recording to a Roland 1680 and, based on what I have read, I am not too confident about the mic pre's. I have access to a Carvin C 1600, concert series mixer. Should I use the Carvin mic pre's?

I think that you are probably the one who has to answer this yourself, do some test recordings and A/B the same instuments through both sets of pres and see which you like best. Its possible that one set of pres will sound better on some things and the other might sound better on others.
