Carvin guitars

I ordered a Carvin Koa 4 string neck-through bass in 1993. The wood work, finish fretbaord and fretwork were imaculate and it played very nice.

Unfortunately the pickups and electronics were very flat and lifeless to me. I seriously considered keeping it and replacing the pickups and electronics but opted to have a local builder custom make me a somewhat similar Koa bolt on with EMG's for about the same price and I love it.

I have purchased two power amps from them..they work great, no problems and sound uncolored to my ears.

I built a fretless with a Carvin neckthrough and it is very nice.

I also built a 2-10 with a horn bass cab for bi-amping with my Peavey 15" and used Carvin speakers, horn and cross over. I had to return one speaker (arrived damaged) but they replaced it quickly and had great service.

FWIW - I have heard better reviews on their guitar pickups and electronics than on the bass side but their new Music Man style bass pickup with the stacked double coil up by the neck like some the Lakland has me curious.

I would probably do business with them again.
