Hello people,

I really need some help as I would like to start recording a little soon with a friend who plays drums. We are going to do

some inexpensive home recording as a little bit of fun. I mostly know what I'm doing with everything apart this one thing I

need help with.

We are using the PS2 singstar microphones (Jack, not XLR). They work and sound great with the recordings we have done,

but I would like to set-up a multi-track recording with their own USB hub, that we did not use previously, instead just a

single/two split microphones through the mic port on the front of the laptop. The USB hub can be plugged into a USB port

on the laptop and has two small-jack microphone ports. Once the hub is plugged in, a blue light in the corner comes

on and with the first time, a dialouge box in the bottom right showed 'drivers have been successfully installed'. I have tested

the mics individually in the mic port like I said and they work fine. But hitting the record button in Adobe Audition 1.5, the

recording program I am using, with the USB hub selected as the track's recording device, the program freezes and then tells

me there is an error. Upon further inspection of the device in the computer recording devices, no level is displayed next to

this particular device (as pictured) and cannot be used to record anything on the laptop as it is. It needs modifying somehow

and I don't know what to do. People have made this work on other computers by changing something in some 'advanced

menu' but I do not see where this is located... Please check my screenshots.

I'm wondering how I can record with this device. I'm also wondering if these two microphones would be able to be assigned

to two seperate tracks in audition or whether the device will just appear as one and the microphones will be split left/right

to record on 1 track simultaneously?

Thankyou very much!
