Can't record w/ Audigy 2 plat. ex

Ok...A few months ago I could record with my soudcard and it worked great. Then one day I went on and I couldn't record(their was no sound). So later I restored my computer and now I still can't record. I'm almost postive all the settings are right but I still hear nothing. I've contacted creative labs and they weren't much help. Anybody have any ideas???
 
you might reinstall the driver package for the soundcard if you restored the OS on the computer. Unless the card hardware has failed its most likely a software setup issue. Also check the bios and see if you have any onboard sound casuing conflicts with the sound card.
 
I did reinstall the sound card after I recovered the computer. How can i sheck the bios?

when you boot the machine up it goes through a "Power On Self Test" (post) before your OS software isinitialized. Usually you can press the del key while its booting and it will allow you get to the bios.
