Cant Play Back a Recording on Laptop

I recorded a track using my laptop, audio interface and mic'd drums, and saved it. Now, just using the laptop alone, I figured I would open the track and mess around with it using some plug ins. But, I can open the track, it shows the waveform and all but when I hit Play nothing happens. No sound and no cursor going across the track as it did when I played it with everything hooked up.

Can I open a track and play it using the laptop alone? Thanks
 
Where 'Built In Output' is whatever your internal soundcard-speaker set up is.
