on my other computer. Dvd IS KNOWN GOOD. When I place the DVD in the drive,it just startes at me.Finally it shows the drive and it is empty! Again, it is a known good DVD bundle. I have tried many. The DVD player does open bundles saved on CD and does play movie DVD. Im confused!

Silly questions.. you have tried burning other data onto the DVD drive.. other than bundle files that is.. and I'm not referrin to any movies either.. just straight data?

Also, what are you using to burn it with?

How are you so sure about that when it's not working?

Have you tried the DVD in any other DVD-ROMs?

I may not be understanding what you're saying, but as far as I know you should transfer the bundle to your hard drive then try to open it.I don't think Sonar can read directly from a DVD,at least not something as big as a bundles file.

I always save my bundles on my hard drive. Dont know another way  You can easily burn A DVD of bundles. I do it all the time . It is just this one time the DVD would not open on another computer. The DVD is good, the otherer DVD player is good as far as I know. It plays DVD movies and burns CD's. A dvd holds 4.7 gig so space isnt an issue. Jim

You do know there are more than one format of DVD's... it's not evident much on the DVD but it's like a VHS vs Beta thing.. ie DVD+ and DVD-. Both are different formats and not all DVD drives can read both. Check the media you are burning on for the format then check the other drive is compatiable with it.

DVD movies (other than home movies which you make) aren't + or - specific.

It sounds like Sonar 4 comes with two discs. One a program CD, the other a DVD with sample videos and the usual assortment of odds and sods.

If you can't play the movies, copy them to your hard drive using file manager. This will work if they are 'normal' files, ie. .mpg, .avi., .rm, .qt, .mov etc.

If they have encoded them actually as a DVD movie, then you may not have a required codec to view them, although this sounds weird as you can play other movies on the PC. Grab Smartripper and manually rip the .VOB files off the DVD and then use something like DVDx to encode them back to .avi or .mpg format.

Or bug Cakewalk support.
