Can't find a demagnetizer for portastudio + cleaning tips

Hello everyone, just bought a tascam 414 off ebay, it looks as if the previous owner did not maintain it very well. There's dust everywhere etc.

Is there any service/repair manuals about? (i've got the owners manual)

I need a demagnetizer, i live in th UK and cant find one online - can i use a standard "tape based" demagnetizer?

Any help or comments on what to use to clean the unit etc would be helpful as the internals (looking in the tape tray) seem to be filled with dust.

Good little unit, for what it is. I had one for a couple of years and enjoyed its simple operation and fairly clean results. I'd contact Tascam directly with your questions. Radio Shack in the USA sells what you need, but I'm sure you'll find UK alternatives. Here's one that I quickly googled:
