can't figure it out....

running PT 7 with an Mbox 2 pro.

Every time I launch pro tools, I have to close it out and restart my computer to get sound. it kills all sound, even windows media player, reason, soundforge..everything. no sound will come from my computer until I restart it.

anybody know why this is happening? or have a guess i could look into? im starting to get a bit annoyed with this.

Yeah I just got pro tools like 5 minutes ago so im not to with it yet, but i do know when i used adobe audition, you had to set up your outputs for your hardware either through hardware setup or in the hardwares own setup menu...I dont know, Im just tryna throw somethin out to help you possibly

That's a common isssue Pro Tools. I strongly recommend yo to check what version do you have (mine is 7 1 3) Then you can check if that version is totally compatible with your system. It's a good idea to post in the digidesign forum too, the PT experts live in there . Luck.
