Gotta listen to them...but you probably won't hear them on CHOM or Virgin 96 or any of the other crap radio stations in Montreal, either French or English.
For such a large city, it has some of the worst radio, IMHO.
Karkwa recently one the prestigious Polaris Prize (best Can band, sort of like the UK's Mercury Prize). They're kind of melodic alt-rock with interesting dual percussionists and keys.
Of course, there's also the mega-hyped Arcade Fire and mega-pop Simple Plan.

But I forget what this thread is about!?!

im surprised...Montreal has an excellent vibe....Torontos music scene makes up for its stupid as fuck drink laws, I thought Montreal would way outplay it in cool factor when its comes to music


Of course back when I lived in London UK I listen to XFM, now theres a great mainstream station <puffspipe>

Looking at it written down though, I knew it would look confusing so I thought I'd keep it in.

No no. I'm pretty sure Chili was saying that MY statement about us being our own fathers was what nobody understood. Your response made total sense in comparison.

Without checking it out, I'm going to guess it's Hip-hop. The in-appropriateness of the SPAM smells like rap....all the way up here in Canada.:rolleyes:

It's cool. He's from CENTRAL VIRGINIA, Quebec. I went there once. Nice town. A little French though.
