I'm formatting my computer and I was just wondering. How can I keep alot of my pt8 music files from clugging up my c drive and putting some files on my external hard drive.

yea they recommend saving all pro tools sessions on a external hard drive, usually a firewire hard drive with a write time of 7200rpm. I have one and they work great and have it daisy chained with my interface into my mac mini. I bought mine off of macsales.com

i dont ever keep any sessions or any other projects from other daws on my desktop, they will go to my external hard drive.

so

basically just when your done recording a track, just create a folder in your external hard drive, save it in there and thats it?

No, when you click "File... New Project", you have to select a folder for the project to be saved in.

Make sure you choose a folder on your external drive.

Do not use a USB drive; not recommended nor are they supported.
