hi-

can you help me with this? - I have a link here to the diagram of my old Marshall solid state, which I'm going to use now as a 2x12 cabinet, speakers only. This is the old 1980's Marshall model 5212 .

on the bottom right hand corner of the page is the speaker layout... I can't tell if it means 2x 8 ohm in parallel or series. I've been to some sites that show the differences between parallel and series, but they don't look like these connections..

can someone take a quick look at this for me?

thanks

They are in Parallel. So the source would see a 4 ohm load.

OK thank you-

The Amp head I'm going to get will have 4 outputs, one jack each for :

Parallel:
1x 8 ohm speaker
or
2x 16 speakers

Series:
1x 16 ohm speaker
2x 8 ohm speakers

so my amp only will see a 4 ohm load in my cabinet. Do I have any solution to this? (Doesn't look like it)

thanks

I'm not sure if I'm interpreting your question correctly or not but if the amp can handle 8 or 16 ohms you could wire the two 8 ohm speakers in series and the amp would see a 16 ohm load.
