ok I don't have a clip at the moment, but maybe I can tell you in words. 6/8 time, 176 bpm. 32nd notes descending down 4 toms, giving each tom 6 32nds. Crescendo and day crescendo each tom change. I heard this at the end of a song called "the Climb" by No Doubt. It sounds so awesome. Was just wondering if he is really good, or can you guys do that too? I will try to post a sample later.

I would guess he's doing a double stroke roll on the toms. Pretty common by modern jazz and drum corps players. I'll know as soon as I hear it.

Well I would guess almost anybody could play it but not many with a good sound.

Hey,

I just heard that song and I agree it's a great fill. I think I could play it more or less like it is on the original. When I first heard it, I though he was actually playing 32nd note triplets but it's just the way he accents the first note of every 6 32nd notes.

I'm going to have to work it out and add it to my collection of killer fills!

Just listened to it...

Those are just sixtuplets!! Its EASY! Actually its 32nd notes accented on every 6th note. The tempo isn't 176. That would be blazing. The tempo is more like 60 or 65 as you count 1/4 note value, not the subdivisions.

Philgood, I think PhraseMMX was correct in that he accents the FIRST of each set of 32nds, NOT the 6th. He also crescendos each set. Also, I don't think there was anything incorrect about my explanation. The bpm I posted was in reference to a 6/8 time signature. Am I wrong, anyone? Hey can one of you guys possibly post a clip of it?

Right! The first of each 6. I phrased it wrong. Your explanation was right. I forgot in 6/8 you DO count based on 1/8 notes. I was thinking as cut-time.
