Can monitors be hooked up to my mini system?

right now i run my output on my soundcard to my mini systems AUX, can i hook up monitors to the back of it like regular speakers?

Where do you want to hook the monitors up? Back of the soundcard or your mini system? Teh answer is "Depends on what kind of monitors you are using". There are two kinds of monitor speakers - Passive and Active. Passive monitors are just like regular speakers and they need an amp to drive them, active monitors come with built in amp, so if you plug in an active monitor to your soundcard that is fine, dont try to plug in any speakers in your mini system, either the mini system will blow or the speakers would blow. Calculate the speaker and amp power ratings before you do anything.
