Can I playback a 15-20 track session in CEP all tracks in 24/96 using a Quantum EIDE ULTRA-ATA/100 7200RPM FIREBALL?

I was gonna get a 10k rpm HD, but if this will do, I will get this....

The comp is a 1 gig Athlon Thunderbird with 256 meg pc 133.

Thanks for any replies.....

I would guess yes... but there's really no way to know for sure without trying it in your box... it depends as much (or nearly so) on other elements of the system as it does on the hard drive.

yep

When I used to use CEP I had no trouble playing back 24 tracks on a Celeron 375, 128 MB PC100, 20GB IBM Deskstar ATA/66 7200 RPM, so I'd wager your system will handle it just fine. I'd go for one of those IBM GXP drives (ATA/100, 7200 RPM), they kick ass and they're very reliable. Check out the review at anandtech.com (just search for IBM GXP).
