Can I use this to cleanse my USB mixer of ground looping

This is only going to work within the signal chain or loop that it is set up in. Since that Yamaha is USB, I assume you have it connected to the computer that way so any hum problem from that interface will not get changed.
You could plug this through the outboard f/x loop (it has RCAs) but I am not sure this will remove any hum problems from that place in the signal chain.

I'm still trying to find out who came up with the "great" ;) idea to use USB for passing more serious audio signals...?

The best way to clean up USB ground/noise issues...is to bypass USB altogether.

Why don't you find the source of the ground issue rather than putting on a "band-aid".

I had an issue with a ground loop at one time, it would only show up on one of my computers's speakers. Found the loop by unplugging the network cable on that machine. Traced it through my network to my cable modem. Turns out it was the ground strap at the cable box, outside. ymmv.
