Can I use the fw-1884 with another interface?

I want to use the fw1884 i already have with a different interface at the same time to get more simul. In's at once. the fw-1884 gives me 8 but i'd like to get to 16 at least. So I was thinking of getting a firepod or something of the sort but I just want to know I can use them together. I run Nuendo 2.2. Any help would be great. thanks.

I would get the Maudio Octane which gives you 8 more channels that you can use with the 1884's lightpipe.
