hi all,

im sure this has been thought of before. if the bigger the tape width the better recordings, can i mix down my audio to a normal commercial video cassette tape using a vcr to get the analog warmth that i need?

i know that the audio track on the vhs tape is probably quite small, but the quality shld be much better than an audio cassette rite?

thanks

Make sure that you are using a hi-fi vhs deck and you can get some decent results.I have a jvc hi fi vcr that I used to use to mix to and it sounded pretty good. The only thing you have to watch for is that most of them have automatic gain controls, and if you send a really hot signal in it acts like a compressor with a godawful long release time that can kind of squash the sound,so you might have to play around with the levels to get it right. If you can find a high end deck with adjustable levels and meters, that is a big plus...............good luck................L
