Hey I saw this thing on ebay, and since I'm in the market for an 8ch. mic pre you might say it piqued my interest.

question 1. How do you think these pre's would compare to behringer pre's (what i've been using). I'm not necessarily looking for a vast improvement, but for all the trash-talking that beh gets, I saw this little gadget and thought 'well it probably can't be much worse. and its cheap'. i'm on a budget. obviously.

question 2. does anyone know what those weird connections are on the back in the 'master section' with 5 holes?

I've heard that most Altec mic pres/mixers you'd get off ebay have a very high probability of being old, useless crap.

Noisy. Therefore useless.
