In light of an interferece issue I've been having recently, I wondered if anyone knew if it was possibel to have a balanced guitar signal (i.e. like an XLR > XLR balanced mic)? I run a Fender road-worn strat into a Line 6 POD 2.0 into my recording device (Tascam DP02). Any idea on how / if it's possible to run a balanced signal from the POD would be great.

howz about a noIZE gATe?

For a few dollars, a basic Behri/Boss pedal (noisegate) could be what you need.
I'm not convinced that the balanced format will reduce the noise of any Strat!..lol.....espesh if you're going thru some form of OD/Dist.
If a cheap noise gate is good enough for Ingwie, it'll prolly work well for you(?):)

oh..ps...does your Line6 not have a settable NoiseGate?:confused:confused:

To answer my own question, and to help anyone else in the future with the same situation / in future - a TRS jack from the POD 2.0 to an XLR input of any kind IS balanced and the signal is SO much better than unbalance - louder; better quality audio; WAY better signal-to-noise ratio - basically next to NO noise what-so-ever). Well worth the effort (even if you have to solder your own cable up, like I did)!
