I want to try recording some songs using my old 424 mk1 and then dumping them into my computer for mixing just for fun. I want to know if it's possible, using the line/tape out rca connections on the back to hook that up to my delta 1010 and dump the tracks seperately? i would experiment on this but i dont have the appopriate cables, so i'll have to get them after i find out if its even possible.

So long as you have the direct tape out jacks on the Portastudio in question, you're good to go.

The only caveat is that because these are "direct" connection points, you will have no mixer controls available to use like the eq controls, as an example.

Cheers! :)

that's okay

cus i have all that on the computer anyway, i just want to get it from tape to computer. :)

you should be all good

First off, what is a delta 1010?

I have been able to dump cassette to computer with some success recently.
The only problem is that I had to dump the tracks hard panned two at a time and seperate them. If I did them one at a time I couldn't get them to line up right. I was using the same 4-track as you into acid and soundforge. What program are you using? how are your results?

The problem with my tracks not lining might have something to do with the 4-track playing back at slightly different speeds. I don't know.
