Can anyone suggest me some relatively noiseless preamps for under $300?

I really want a clean signal on the output without having to use noise reduction in my software. I used to have dmp3 but that unfortunately died and I'm looking to try something new.
I have about $300 to spare and would ideally like suggestions on relatively noiseless preamps when the gain is raised say you wanna record vocals...
 
Most would agree that the RNP is super clean, but it's about $450 new, maybe used you could grab one for $300, I don't know the used market on them. I've used one for 8 years and love it. That would be my recommendation, sorry I couldn't be more creative and give you something new and unheard of. But, my guess is DMP3, then step up to RNP, then $1000 or so, probably not a lot of other choices.
