just uploaded some plugins from a CD..moved the ZIP files to my desktop now what? how do I get Reaper to find them?

Reaper allows you to specify which folder to scan for plugins.

You can create a new folder, unzip the plugins to that folder and setup Reaper to
look there.

You should be able to see a bunch of .dll files in the folder where you unzipped the files.
After the unzipping and adding the folder to Reaper, click on the "Rescan Directory" button.

Frick!! thanks man.. just dont get it how do I unzip it... did what u said..got the files on to my desktop n then moved em to program files ..created a folder n tried to scan it...I suck at file movement man... I bet I ruined my XP this way:(

Try this:
Create a folder under your C drive named: VSTPlugins
Unzip the files and specify the extraction folder as C:\VSTPlugins
All unzip programs allow you to choose the folder where you want to extract the files. Select C:\VSTPlugins and extract the files.

Open Reaper and the Preferences menu and click on the "Add" button. Add C:\VSTPlugins to the list of directories.
Click on the "Rescan directory" and see if the plugins are now available for use.
