Can Anyone Help me Decide Between SP-5B or TR5

i can't decide whether i should buy the m-audio studiophiles, or the event tr5's. is there anyone that has experience with either that could sway me in one direction or the other?

please, please, please, please, please, please do not respond to say "those are both great doorstops, you need mackies..." please, please, please. please, please. i have nothing against you, i just can't afford expensive gear...i'm a college kid with a project studio in my bedroom...please please please only respond if you can help me decide between the above mentioned monitors. please, please.

Damn! I got the same dilemma. I've heard the SP5B's and I liked them for my small room but the Events are nowhere to be found besides online. I like the 20/20bas but I don't know how the TR5's compare to those. I guess I'll wait until some local store has them, but my gut feeling is to go for the Events.

it's a little creepy. the event tr5's seem to be some type of hoax...no one has used them, or even heard anything about them. i even spoke to the event people, and they basically read the specs...it was as if THEY had never heard them...

I know what you mean, I saw them at Musician's Friend loooong before I saw anything about them on Event's website. But online stores swear that they have them in stock, so I guess they do exist. Maybe they will oficially debut at Winter NAMM? I'm tempted to just oder a pair and return them if I don't like them...

me too...but i'm not a fan of blindly spending hundreds of dollars. i thought if i kept posting threads about the tr5's, someone would eventually say something about them, just to shut me up...but i guess that's not going to happen.

they had the tr5's and 8's at the samash i was at yesterday... didn't have any bx-8s to compare to... they did have krks and mackies and the smaller sp-5.
I didn't listen extensively to them because i was there checking out a floor model sp-8 which they said they had... unfortunately one of them was out for repair... i will say that i did give the tr8's a good listen. Not too bad... they are lacking some lows... would have like to compared to the bx-8 which i gave a long listen to.. but alas... they didn't...

can't say i am much help... but the tr8's sounded good. I am still waiting to hear the yorkvilles before i decide...
