Hi Folks I use a program called Riffmaster Pro to remove vocals which does a reasonable job, however , sometimes the background music loses something The onboard equalizer has settings as follows

+- 32 +-64 +-128 250 500 1K 2K 4K 8K 16K Any advise as to best settings to keep music to the forefront while still semi muting the vocals.?? Thanks in advance.

Someone asks that question here every week. Removing certain frequencies because the vocals are prominent in those ranges also removes the backing music at those frequencies. It's the laws of physics!

And no two vocals are the same so a generic setting won't really work.
Do you know how "vocal removers" work?
Do a little research and discover just how unsatisfactory the results will always be.
Riffmaster Pro doesn't exactly sound like it's made specifically for at good result with the task either.

Hi Whilst "Riffmaster" is primarily a music slow down program, the vocal remover section is better than many programs that are explicitly made for the purpose.

Due to everyone's comments I am now more aware of the problem.......Thanks for the input.
