Can a Monaural CD hold more music?

If you want to burn a CDR for playing in a consumer CD player, do you get more play time if the tracks are mono? The data size of the such a file is half as big as a stereo wav file. But does that translate into putting twice as much material on a CD?

Please remember that thing about there being no dumb questions...

You could get more room on a cd like that, but only if you were buring a data cd. Audio cd's go by time, 700mb or 80 minutes for the average cdr.
