did anyone else hear this diss song by Camron" You Gotta Love It? I must admit it's a real hot track, BUT it's not hot enough to go against Jay, not even close. I think he committed suicide.
 
I was laughing when I heard it because I know that Jay'll kill him. The only MC in the game now who could take him down is Nas and they've made up.

Cam'ron is DEAD.
 
This was one of those make or break moves that an MC would choose to make when he been out the game for a while and wants some shine back. So this makes Hova a perfect target for a diss track. Smart move? FUCK NO. There are some you can get away with dissing and some you forget about dissing and work with to help push you (putting all personal shit aside to do that). Unless you're Nas or a select other few, you don't diss Hova (you'll get clowned for even trying). Cam doing it was just plain stupid IMHO.
 
Damn, why am I the only one who thinks Cam can win??? :eek:
 
i think he can win, doesnt mean he WILL... nah i think Jay-z got this but i dont think Cam's going down real easy

yo, he used to be on it, but after confessions of fire, he kind of went left field. now, i can only get down to some of his beats, lyrics are too repetitive and annoying at times.
I like his gangster, but Jay has that heat for real.

That's all it is....The thing is that Cam didn't even need to do this. He has enuff street cred to get out on his own and move some units. He's gonna learn though, if J chooses to respond, which he really doesn't have to.

Now that is smart business. I can't wait to hear Nas's next album now. I always thought those two would make a good team. Hov got enough power to put Nas where he belongs and Nas has enough cred and stripes in the game to make it work.

I agree Cam switched up, but you could say the same thing about Jay Z after his earlier shit...before he started biting BIG and tryna freestyle all his damn records. That was when he was hot. He really aint shit right now. As far as fanbase and style, these two cats are miles apart. From a lot of these posts (no names), I sense a whole lotta DICKRIDIN' goin on. (Brace yourself) Jay Z is NOT untouchable. We arent talkin about some new guy from the other side of the country (ie the Game) dissin an established rapper. Cam is from the same area, has proven himself, and was under the same label umbrella. No one can diss you better than someone who was close to you. Im just saying dont count the kid out just yet.
 
i aint never liked cam ron relaly - but that song is hot!!! whether he can take jay remains to be seen . . . . hell i didnt think nas was gon take jay - but he really did!!!! to some extent . . . even tlkhough its kind of a draw with jay n nas - it waasnt sposed to be a draw it was supposed to be a jay wins hands down type thing . . its kinda like that with cam - its supposed to be a slaughter - i got a feelin cam gon surprise mo folk!!!! as long as he put out shits wit real rhyme flows n structures (not the nurseryschool shit) he got a foot in the ring!!!!
 
Now I'll admit Cam will have some arsenal on Hov, but I think what'll kill him is Hov has more popularity. One good diss track on Jay probably won't concern him much....unless his blood fam is brought into it or Cam brings some real dirt that's been locked in the Roc-A-Fella vault and left for dead. Ain't nobody untouchable, except that hooker with the buck teeth and growth on the side of her neck and that's only cause you don't want to LOL.

Cam dissing Jay, jay-z is gonna eat his ass alive, and if he doesn't he can do that cause he earned that right. And we all know it, only because

1. no matter how many of big's verses jay may have snabbed over the years he's dropped jewels of his own, that makes him classic in his own right

2. cam isn't even contender for the crown, no nonsense gangster rap never got anyone in N.Y. the title and it won't work now!

this is all nice as far as talk is concerned but how is it that cam gets shot and trys to pull a tupac by saying he saw cats throw the roc sign, how is it he gonna be like dame hit me up to all the stuff jay was looking for on the dipset to diss us and when he couldn't find anything he changed his mind, (last i checked there are more than just dipset guys rapping in the world, and not even jay-z could change a whole concert at the drop of a hat like that)

this sounds like bullshit!
Bottom Line: Jay been on tour and has done the same dope cam has and you know what, HOV AIN'T NEVER BEEN SHOT!

P.S.- Now why isn't anyone asking cam why he got shot,hhhmmmm.

The point is.. Jay's lines could be the exact same as Cam's and kill ya more than Cam using them.... Why? Cause (and this is an opinion) good battle rap depends surprising you and AS QUICKLY, HARSHLY, AND HUMOROUSLY AS POSSIBLE... and it hardly works if you stand there holding the mic to think for a sec or two...Point in case:

Get it? Cam could never deliver those bars as quick as Jay.... Never.. And the rest doesn't fall into place as a result...

Jay is a dude who has freestyled classic albums...

Cam is a dude who hasn't dropped a classic EVER.

Jay is a dude who's eaten many MC's who are considered dope.

Cam has never eaten anyone on the mic.

Jay is that dude who made Roc-A-Fella the label it was.

Cam is that dude that made people say "What's wrong with the ROC?"

Cam is wack, always has been, always will be. Dude can't flow, and his garbage lyrics and lack of any vocab will get him eaten in 8 bars from Jay. Jay don't even need to respond to win this...

its funny how folk stack the deck so easily -- again, i am not a cam fan - never have been.

but i am aware of several songs that show cam's artistic prowess - [and lord knows a massive amount of people was ON CAM when he put out the 1st cd - confessions of fire--talkin about how nice he was - mind u - he had more "commercial" bricks than commercial hits back then]

he has IT in him - he uses IT as little as possible - cuz after all - having the ability to eat em cees DOES NOT SELL RECORDS -- having the ability to create catchy, clever, dance-shake-that-ass-lets phuck songs is what sells records (hell, even Jay Z knows/does this!!!)

IMO - neither one has ALWAYS satisfied my 'ear for a battle" -- I REALLY DONT CARE WHO WINS. but i dont think its a FOREGONE CONCLUSION that hov will win. people said it was a FOREGONE CONCLUSION that hov would defeat NAS -- and HJV HAD noting FOR ETHER

JUST DONT COUNT CHICKENS JUST YET - THEM MUGGZ AINT BEEN HATCHED!!!
