I'm not sure you'll have the answer but here it goes. Do you use a CAD program at all for studio work? If so which one?

No I don't wally - I've tried a few but can't find one I like. AutoCAD is over the top for me. The university students at Architectural school use a program called ArchiCAD but I haven't tried it. I just use a drawing program called Smartdraw. Version 5 has just added dimensions and scaling so it works for me.

I'm asking beacuse I work for the building department and the show no mercy. They want 2 set of blueprints possibly needing an architecs signature, plus a chance of not being allowed to in the zone blah blah blah. If they catch someone building, which they do quite often, they charge double of their already high fees. Check out the fees for next year.
