Well I've been psycho about metal since the mid to late 80's. I am a guitar player, but I am fascinated with extreme metal drumming. When I go to an extreme show....I watch the drummer, haha. I do play the drums....just not up to that level. (I want to one of these days.....probably never happen :rolleyes: )
I know all of this shit because I am obsessed with it. I read about it constantly. I have been a knowledge junkie all my life, and it just spills over into my love for metal. Alot of that info up there was pulled from a drummer's forum and I just added to it. What more do you want to read about ericlingus? That's what the internet is for! ;)
 
once again metalhead, thanks for the posting. You have been helping me with my guitar stuff and now with the lastest posting, I will be working on the various forms of the blast beat on my drum kit. I've also been into the metal scene since the mid 80's (slayer, testament, dark angel) and the metalcore stuff (dri, the accussed). I was also heavily influence by alot of punk (dr. know, bad brains, black flag).

No problem. I wish that I could get there with my drumming. I am still working on playing the kicks with my ankles/calves instead of my whole leg. That is the thing that is holding up my speed on the double kicks. I can only do fast blast beats by alternating my feet, (Suffocation style) I can't do them with one foot and I can't do the double kick blast. My hands are way faster than my feet. Maybe if I played alot more I could develop some more but I play pretty rarely because I am so much more focused on playing guitar. But at least I can write drums with Drumkit From Hell...haha. That satisfies me a little bit.

i fucking wish, dude.
finding guitarists that can keep up with me, or finding reliable musicians in general... is a pain in the ass.
