calling all beat producers

The file is 10mb cause I got it as the highest quality mp3 possible 320kbs. I wish he could redo his vocals too, but the dude is back in Ontario canada lol, so it's kinda hard to. I'll upload a smaller sized mp3 @ 128kbs file, so that it'll be around 4mb for you tone. Maybe nudging it on samples instead of seconds could get it on beat better. I usually edit everything I do down to the sample rate itself if I had to move anything, or down to 1/64th or whatever of a second... can't remember the numbers, but anyways. It seems to be a hard but challanging production. I was thinking of remastering the vocals, since I think they sit a little to wide in the stereo field. Maybe reverse it. Also, to make it a bit easier, or interesting, delay on the vocals might add for example, an extra 12-18ms of sound to the vocals, which might allow for a better fit. But, in the real world, producers a lot of times send stuff like this into an engineer to mix down, or also to produce something pre-tracked, and pay you $5K to do it, and it's either you do it or not type of thing lol. IDK it's kind of difficult for me since @ home I don't have the equipment I do at the studio, like StylusRMX that I used on Nuendo 3 to make the beat that it's mixed down with. Also don't have the Neko that I used to capture extra sounds from the 10 other synths & key's that sit beside it... I'mma definently work at it until it's done, no quiting for me lol. What if someone offered me $20K to fix an album like this, redoing 2 tracks or whatever. needa be ready ya kno?

damn if i had a booth i would tell homeboy to come re-do his vocals here cuz i'm like 5 min. away from ontario canada

I will have mines done this weekend for yall..hopefully

god damn!!!!!!! tone u the r n b master mind playa!!!!!! that joint made me wanna go lay down wit the shorty right now lol!!! for real though that joint is straight

Thanks for the comments guys!! Yall ain't gonna believe how i got the vocals on time. What i did is after i downloaded the 20%, i went back and played the lo-fi version with the beat and recorded it in acid pro. Then i beatmapped the lo-fi version and matched the mp3 up with the lo-fi vocals to get a pretty accurate tempo. After that, re rendered the vocal, tossed it in FL Studio and started vibin.

GOT DAMN THAT JOINT FU**IN NICE!! You gon do the whole thing?

Yea. Imma see if i can go to the school library and download the rest. Theyre internet is very fast. Hey mindset, what was the vocal chain on that one? Sounds expensive.

We used a TLM193 mic, to the NEVE console in Studio D, SPX90 reverb/delays, LA2A Compressors, Orban EQ's, Millenium preamps, and and hour mixing vocals down everything through the HD system.

No wonder!!! I've just about given up on messing with vocals at home. I'm concetrating more on my music. I see that i'm going to continue buying mic after mic and preamp after preamp until i'll realize one day that i have alot of junk and i should have just went to the studio to record vocals.

I just tried that vocal sound from Chris Charles on a female artists vocals i'm working on. Added alot of presence to the sound. Did you copy it three times or 2? I tried it copied twice panned left and right with right side delayed a few ms and i also tried it with an additional copy of the vocal to put in the middle. Good deal! The mic she uses sounds really good. She uses an Adk A-51 Type V. I bought one for myself a good while back but doesn't sound too great thru my behringer mixer. After i get a new pre, that'll probably be the last thing i buy that has anything to do with vocals, unless i run into some good money!!

There was the main vox track, a overdub track, 3 harmonic tracks & 2 adlib tracks in all if I remember clearly. It was also a very tight delay timed to the music, the overdub is very slightly there to give it a little body, and then the harmonics add the flava lol. I usually try not to pan everything equally, like 2 tracks left, 2 tracks right, cause then all it does is make it sit wider. I usually keep 1 main center, the over dub I would lower the volume, add reverb to it to give it a sense of space instead of panning it, the harmonics are usually panned during mix. I usually just automate them so that I don't have to sit there panning during mixdown.

hey tone did you ever get the vocals? Im anxious on how it's gonna sound at the end.

What city is Chris Charles from? I just happen to live in Ontario. Is it anywhere near Toronto?

Oh yeah I'm still working on the song. Unfortunely I was recording some acoustic guitar for it, but I only have 2 shitty sounding dynamic mics. So it's not sounding so good right now, but I order a studio project C1 and I'm going to borrow an rode nt1-a from a buddy at work.

Hopefully I'll be able to put something up this wednesday(dec20) or thrusday(dec21)

Actually I have no idea. I think I was told Ontario, or a city that started with an O. I THINK.
