O.K. Bruce, I have recovered my stolen gear money from my wife and am ready to go and check out the RNC. Do you personally use it and what is THE #1 feature TO YOU that makes this comp better than most??

I've got 3 of 'em.... the best thing about these units are the lack of artifacts (even at extreme gain settings) and the smoothness and transparency of the compressed sound.

They are 1/3 rack size, so 3 fit into a single rack space.... (if you want to rack it, you may want to pick up one of those universal rack mounts - 'course, you'll need to buy 3 to make it look decent!!!) (Seriously I'm NOT a saleperson for FMR Audio!!!)

the RNC has changed knobs, thses are either the old ones orthe new ones, I cant really remember.

Sam's Ass..er I mean... Sam Ash is havin'a sale this Thursday where, as several salespeople said,"100's of items marked 30% to 50% off". When I inquired as to whether the RNC will be 1 of them "100's of items marked 30% to 50% off"
I was told that the decision will be made on Thursday.
So I'll wait till then.

Yes Yes, I have three RNCs and, ya' know, I never noticed that two of them have the new (old?) knobs and one has the old (new?) style. I am fortunate to live down the road from the folks who designed this great device. They made and tested them all by hand until a year or so ago. I have nothing but respect and admiration for them and their work.

Word is that there will soon be a RN mic-pre (nobody has seen Mark for a couple of weeks as he is ensconced in his room occasionally coming out to eat) I am eagerly waiting to beta test it!!!

Their concept is apparently to eventually produce the RNC, a RN Mic Pre and a RNEQ - all 1/3 space (will fit in one space side by side) and all under $200 list. It looks so easy when you are that good.....
