I've been using this program for a couple of years and it worked fine but for some reason it's been screwing with the pitch when I record and playback. Has anyone ever had trouble with this? It's tempermental.. not consistent. Help :/

'scoose me

I'm kinda sleep deprived and I just noticed that CakeWalk 4 thing... haha. No. Other than that, yes.

Hey Ice Fairy, welcome to the Cakewalk forum.

Your follow-up post confused me more than the first one. Are you running CW4, or something else?

It would help to know all of your specs (what computer, what sound card, what OS, etc.), but in cases of pitch variance my first suspicion would be something having to do with the sample rate. Like you are playing back files that were recorded at 48 kHz at a 44.1 rate. Is the pitch change constant through the whoe recording, or does it vary while the file is playing?

See if you can get us some more info, and we'll try and diagnose it for you.

Okay.
First of all, I'm running Cakewalk ProAudio 8.0 on a Pentium 4.. regular Soundblaster cheesy card.

I don't KNOW diddly squat about recording other than the very basics or I could probably figure out what was going on pretty easy. All I know is when I record sometimes I hear it skip and when it does that I know the pitch is going to be off when I play it back. I also had a problem last night when I copied part of a recording that had a normal pitch.. when I pasted it into a new window the pitch was completely screwed up.

Does that help?
