I have cakewalk audio pro, an audiophile and a vs 1680,I also have all three manuals but am really new to all of them.If anyone is using this setup could they please help me with the configurations. I`m trying to record from my 1680 to cakewalk and I`ve figured out how to slave the 1680 to cake walk but I just can`t seem to record any tracks.I`ve been over and over the manuals and I`m not lazy just stoopid. Thanks for any advice at all. Al

Did you setup Cake to be the MASTER?

Did you setup Cake to generate MIDI Time Code or Midi Clock?

Did you "physically" connect the MIDI cable (between Cake and the VS)? Computer MIDI OUT to VS MIDI IN.

Post us back. :)

bye...

Thanks very much for the reply Spin. With the help of a fellow on vs planet I got this thing figured out .It was a setting problem with my audiophile 24/96.So now I`ve reached the point where I can record my 1680 into cakewalk. Now for the life of me I can`t seem to get my recorded audio stuff in cakewalk to play back through my monitors. The audiophile people told me I needed a tone generator for midi so I got a roland vcs-55 virtual sound canvas and I`ve figured out how to play midi files through cakewalk but I have no clue about this audio problem. I`m making some progress with all of this because I only bought all this stuff two months ago and I already have a pretty good handle on the vs 1680 ,it`s just that I live in a small mountain town in Canada and there is no one here that has ever heard of home recording never mind cakewalk so I,m pretty much alone with this .I bought a used audio pro 8 off ebay so I don`t think the cakewalk people will help me and the roland and midiman support guys seem too busy to send anything more than one line replies that only confuse a beginner further(now I feel better). Anyway if you have any thought on this audio out of cakewalk problem I`d sure appreciate hearing from you and thanks again for your reply. Al
