Cakewalk Trouble?!?!

I am a new user, using CwPA 9, Win 98SE, with an Athlon K7, and had some peculiar lockups, the meters, all buttons working, nothing runs, no data on the audio or time meters. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, it worked for a minute. Anybody run into this?

What soundcard are you using? Might there be any IRQ conflicts going on?
