Cakewalk Sonar Platinum no sound while recording

I am lost. I can hear my midi controller playing a vsti in Sonar until I start recording. As soon as I click the record button, sound disappears but if I play to the click, it is there when I play back. WHat the heck is going on? Input Echo is set to Auto Thru.

No. For some reason, it started working and I didnt change anything. I am going to start a new thread now about the metronome and being off beat.
