Hi boys and girls......
Ive just started working with Cakewalk Guitar Studio on my comp. Although I'm very experienced recording onto tape, this is my first time recording to a hard drive (so be gentle hehe). I'm using my kewl little Mackie mixer's outputs and my '53 Gibson ES-125 guitar and am getting a dynamite recording sound. I have a Soundblaster Live card that is only a few weeks old. I chose 8 track recording from the Cakewalk Quickstart menu and recorded a Guitar left on track one. Then I doubled the Guitar on track two and panned each left and right. Everything sounded fantastic during the recording and I was able to play 'to' the first track due to my having a full duplex card (so far am i making any sense?). But when I listened back to the two tracks about the 13th measure the tracks were suddenly out of sync with each other! I listened to the first track and it was fine...but now the second track had a glitch in it and was out of sync. Ive tried my best to identify the cause of the problem reading the entire Cakewalk help file and various other Cakewalk faq's to no avail. Not being sure of anything regarding recording on a computer, I tried a few blind fixes such as reinstalling Cakewalk on another hard drive, starting fresh with the same results always about the 13th to 17th measure. Has it something to do with the clock within Cakewalk? Is there something Im not doing or perhaps doing incorrectly? Its driving me up a wall......any help would be appreciated for sure!
