In CW 9 pro, I'm getting loud pops and clicks all through tracks that I record with the Simulaneous record and play enabled. I had this problem on an older computer with Cake 6.0 and the newer unit with 9 pro audio. It happens with both win98 and XP. I have updated my drivers and reduced my screen res/colors and all the usual stuff. Does anyone else have this problem? This clicking and popping makes the application pretty much usless. I have even tried some of the "de-clicking" plug-ins with no luck. Sound Forge Vegas runs clean as a whistle, with no pops and clicks. Can anyone lend some advice before I uninstall Cakewalk?
Thanks, Bill

I had a problem like this.

Mine was a timer problem with cakewalk and my layla 24/96.
I would get studders, pops and freeze ups.
Don't know if this helps but I hope so.

A while back, pops and clicks drove me crazy until I set my SB PCI128 to record and play at 48KHz. Evidently many soundblasters operate at 48K internally, and any other setting slows it down and causes random pops and clicks, sometimes a couple of minutes in. I've never had a problem since setting to 48KHz.

Oh ya

Not to state the obvious but clipping will cause this as well, if you are going in to the red.
