cakewalk manual

Dont know if this has been asked before as I am new to the forum :)
Anyway does anyone have a manual for cakewalk, I am able to do some functions but have trouble when recording overdrive, I am playing directly into sound card, as when using a boss pedal, overdrive sounds bad. How can I play using the effects on cakewalk but hear the effects whilst recording and not having to put them on afterwards?
 
Errrrrrrrrr, what happened to the manual that came with the version of Cakewalk you bought? ;)

What version of Cakewalk? What type of Soundcard? And, as Sonusman queried, " Where's YOUR Cakewalk Manual???

There is a book you can buy called Cakewalk Power by Scott Garrigus. Check it out.
 
The answer to your imediate quetsion, about the real-time effects, is you can't -- not in Cakewalk. (You could in SONAR if you had WDM drivers for your soundcard).

Good point, however: If he was a TRUE Pirate (or a good one), he would be asking for help with SONAR, not PA9. If you are gonna steal, why not steal the top of the line??
 
Not a pirate version guys! :) I lent the cd+box to a mate who lost the box but left me with a scratched cd, thanks for input!
