Cakewalk Guitar Studio 2

I'm considering buying Cakewalk's Guitar Studio 2 instead of a stand-alone HD recorded like a VS-840 or BR-8. I want to know if anyone out there has the software and how it has worked out for them. My recordings' arrangements are all very simple (ac. gtr, el. gtr, ld voc, bass, drums). Is the Cakewalk a better bet than the others?

I am trying to use Guitar Studio 2 to do multitrack recording on my computer. I am having trouble hearing one track on record while I am overdubbing another track on top of it. Any suggestions?
