CakeWalk Express and MIDI

I am thinking of buying Express. All I need is the ability to record MIDI data on my pc (don't care about audio), then be able to sync the sequencer (with the recorded MIDI data) to my BR1600CD DAW. When I start my BOSS recorder, I want all the tempo/beat info to be transmitted to the pc and playback the midi data accordingly, in the same time as the recorder. I have a lap top and plan on using a USB/MIDI interface to get the data in and out. Will this work?

It would. But a better sequenser wouldn't hurt. I would go for HomeStudio. Then you have support for virtual instruments too.

As a one time CW Express 8.0 user, I would have to agree with Moskus...buy HS 2004. It has a much better audio engine and greater flexibility.
