cakewalk 8.0 homestudio

I've decided to go use my computer to make my own tracks. I have cakewalk 8.0. I would like to know about software for that I can add so that I won't need to buy external devices. I'd like to record totally inside the computer except for using my keyboard and drum machine. Where do I start?

You'll be able to do a lot with Cakewalk but I suggest you look at Orion Pro (www.sonic-syndicate.com). The effects, etc., should complement Home Studio. There are a whole load of VST/DXI effects & instruments that will be explained.
