Cakewalk 2004 how many separate channels?

Here's the deal;
I've got a Delta 44 w/ breakout box being fed from my

Beringer UB1832FX-pro into the 4 inputs. What I'm trying to do is

record TWO SEPARATE tracks by using the MAIN out as one

source and the MONITOR out as the other. Cakewalk DOES NOT

want to recognized this configuration. Any ideas, help some

better plan WOULD be G R E A T L Y appreciated.

Hey there BF,

My understanding is that HS2004 support unlimited inputs dependent only upon your hardware. I've got HS2004XL, but my soundcard has only two inputs, so in this instance I can't be of any assistance.

I suggest you contact CakeWalk's Support.

Cakewalk will only see your delta 44. It's got no idea what lies beyong in mixerland.

On each track in HS, you should be able to select from a list of inputs sources with names such as Delta left 1/2, Delta right 1/2, Delta left 3/4...etc. Let's say you select delta left 1/2 on track 1.

You then need to run a cable from one side of you Main out, say the left channel, into onput 1 on the delta 44 and pan the associated channel strip hard left. Now what you [lay through that mixer channel strip should get recorded on track 1 in Cakewalk. Do something similar for the other 3 delta 44 inputs
 
Thanks for the replies but, shouldn't I be able to record

AT LEAST TWO Separate Stereo trackss, like bass and drums?

The breakout box has four inputs, I thought that meant

TWO stereo channels, what your telling me is that my Delta

really has only ONE set of Stereo inputs to Cakewalk

(left and right)?
 
If you've got Cakewalk setup correctly to see the delta 44 (you've done a wave profile haven't you), you should see when you click the button at the bottom of each track, a list of input options to choose from.

On mine, I can see

L/M-Audio Delta 44 1/2
R/M-Audio Delta 44 1/2
S/M-Audio Delta 44 1/2
L/M-Audio Delta 44 3/4
R/M-Audio Delta 44 3/4
S/M-Audio Delta 44 3/4

If you don't see these options, go to Options, Audio, Drivers and select all the M-Audio drivers available by holding the CTRL key down.

Now if you select L/M-Audio Delta 44 1/2 on track 1, it will get its signal from the first input on the breakout box.

If you select R/M-Audio Delta 44 1/2 on track 1, it will get input from the second input on the breakout box.

If you select S/M-Audio Delta 44 1/2 on track 1, it will get its signal from the first & second inputs on the breakout box. That's your stereo.

The delta 44 will take 4 mono or 2 stereo signals
 
Done all that. what i'm wondering is what are you using for drivers?
ASIO. WDM/KS or MME 32 bit/ thanks
