For a first condenser mic it might be a reasonable choice, since it comes with a shock mount. It's $80 here:http://www.music123.com/CAD-GXL2400-i132892.music

Some folks like the MXL 990, which comes with shock mount and case, though only has a 20mm diaphragm. Sometime it goes on sale for $59.99.

Probably the SP B1 would be your best bet for an all-around condenser mic:

Just one opinion.

thanks a lot. I have the 990, and it's ok... it's decent as an ambient room mic anyway. I have a few different condensers, I was just wondering if this particular CAD was any good because it's cheap. I was thinking of getting the MXL V67G for a vocal mic. mainly because it's cheap and it has gotten some pretty decent reviews for a mic of it's price.

Thanks a lot,

Jacob
