CAD GLX3000 $60 Stupid Deal 2008-11-23

Very cool to hear! I've been sick as a dog for the past few days, so I haven't been able to try out my mic basket mod... hopefully I'll be able to sing without being disgusting soon.

BTW, I just noticed that the GXL 3000 appears to share at least the body with the much more expensive ADK ST... wonder what else they have in common? Anybody got a shot of the inside of an ADK ST? I'll happily post shots of the inside of the GXL...

Yesterday, I mic'd toms with these on the cardioid pattern. They worked out great. I also used one on some scratch vocal guide tracks and I'm very pleased with what I got.

initial thoughts

the gxl3000 arrived today. Nice lookin' mic. Just did a quick sound check with it and I think it's a keeper. Nice rich sound on my baritone voice. A little boomy on the Martin without the roll off enagaed. My room is not good for omni so I can't comment on that yet. Over all I believe it's worth the $$.

nothing harsh or shrill about that mic. Sits well in your mix...at least on these cheap cans I'm using. Nice job Marc.
