Any tried the CAD M37 or the Octava 219/319 series? Both are almost 80% off at Guitarcetner.

The CAD is a large dia with rolloff and cardoid pattern. CAD makes is exclusively for GC. It retails for about $500.

I need about 10 MICS so I don't want to spend 5-700 per mic.

I have a cad M-37, its a nice mic for the price . The mic has a bit of low mid sound. It sounds good paired up w/ a 57 on guitar. Also pretty clean on vocals. Musicians friend is selling them for $125 right now.

I have an Oktava 219 and like it a lot, still I'll use my Oktava 012's or Studio Projects C-1's more often. The 219 is a warm mic and I got many good recordings out of it when it was my only condenser.

I'd go with the 219 over the 319 cause they're the same thing except the 219 is cheaper. I don't know where I picked this up but when mixing down a track done with a 219 give it a 2db boost at 3800khz due to the grill and everything will be fine.

Um, thanks.

Cool, I've offended someone! I've been trying to do that for my entire musical career!

BTW, you do realize it's all in the interest of satire, right?

Not offended at all. I just meant I like the mix and found it to be appealing but the lyrics would keep me from putting it in my CD player in my car.

No offence at all.

Oh. I see, I suppose. Why is that, exactly? Did you just find the lyrics lacking in profundity/depth, or what? I'm not going to rip on you for not liking the lyrics; I'm just curious.

Probably just a style choice.

I think the lyrics reminded me of a kind of chaotic existance that goes on.

Life reminds me of life enough.

My style preference is to have something in music pull me forward or uplift in some way.

Gotcha. That's cool. I don't think myself much of a lyricist, really. I think They Might Be Giants have some of my favorite lyrics ever.
