Cabling issue...

Hey guys,

I know this is a completly simple question and I'll delete this thread right after I get my answer,

But, what kind of cable would I need to hook up my firepod and my Behringer V-VERB PRO REV2496 via s/pdif?

I've never really used digital connections till now, and I've read both manuals but they are no help...

The firepod looks as though it has an RCA type output, and the reverb has maybe a toslink input... But really I've got no idea!

Any help would be awesome!!! :)

Spdif takes a spdif cable. It is the same as a video cable with the rca connectors.

Toslink uses a fiber optic cable.

Without some sort of converter, you can't connect the two. The converter would probably cost more than the verb unit.

Behringer V-VERB PRO REV2496 Reverb Modeling Processor Features:

* Powerful reverb modeling
* 2 independent 32-bit effects processors
* Analog and digital connectors
* 4 channels
* 8 reverb algorithms
* Modulation effects
* Stereo compressor
* 24-bit/96kHz A/D/A
* 10 different routing configurations
* Servo-balanced, gold-plated TRS and XLR inputs
* AES/EBU, S/PDIF, word clock, and MIDI connections
The problem is that the spdif is really spdif optical.
Just use the inserts on line 1/2 on the firepod.

Actually there is a part that will convert the signals. Being a home theater installer, we run into this all the time. This baby here-

http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_id=3106&sku=40019&gclid=CNGokKfenZYCFRKIxwoduFV8nQ

converts digital coax signal to toslink. It should work since toslink is spdif, just using fiber instead of a digital encoder.

Yeah, but we're talking about a $40 part for a $100 reverb tank!

There are analogue ports on the reverb tank. Use them.
