Can someone please show me the inside picture of an instrument cable and a microphone cable. just so i know which is which. thanks

It's all pretty much the same, just depends on how the ends are wired and to what connector.

can someone please show me how to wire a xlr cable using a standard guitar cable that i have. the cable has two seperate wires, a bare copper and a white covered one. and please no links to the brownsound website, though its very usefull, the pictures are not helping me. thank you

Can't be done! I'm guessing the bare copper one is the shield??? is it braided around the outside of the white covered one? For XLR the shield goes to one pin and then there's another 2 wires that got to the other two pins... with a standard guitar cable your a wire short dude!

yeah, your probably right. maybe I'll buy xlr cable from partsexpress.com but i dont understand how to buy it. when i go under xlr cable, it says its about 32 cents ft. I'm guessing thats per foot. does that mean that under the quantity of this item i write the number relative to the number of feet i want my wire. eg. i want a 10 foot wire, i enter 10 under quanity? Please help. thanks

In instrument cable there is one cable surrounded by a braided shield. The cable goes to the tip contact of your plug and the braided shield goes to the sleeve (earth)
IN XLR you have two cables within a braided shield. The red one goes to pin 2 and the black to pin 3 (Note in europe it's the other way round) The shield goes to pin 1 - you will notice it's longer so it connects first. If you are running between two unbalanced units only connect the braid end to one unit so one of the units acts as ground zero!

Cheers :D
