Hosa makes a decent 8x8... I'm assuming you're just looking for a balanced 1/4" to balanced 1/4" - Not heavy duty, but decent quality and inexpensive.

Wow. I'm stunned to see Massive Master recommend Hosas.

You can get a Jade Audio 8TRSx8TRS at Musicians Friend for like 20 bucks. I've used that and the Hosa and they are exactly the same.

If he said he was going from his SSL into his Prism converters, I would've come up with something different. :D

Well, another store around me has like 2 snakes, look sort of used or something, and I forget the brand. I just hear things about the Hosa's crapping out and whatever. Musiciansfriend.com doesn't ship to Canada. I prefer to not have to order over the net unless I have to.

I have a couple of those Jade snakes, way less money than any of the others. for short runs, I use them and when they won't be moving, like in the rack. But I also hand made a bunch of more important patch cables from good quality spool of cable and Neutrik plugs. If you get 100 of them they're cheaper. It was easier for me to buy higher quality cable than what you can afford to buy assembled. And I knew how well soldered the ends were since I did them myself. It did take a lot of time, tho. But I thought it was important for the stuff that moves and is around power sources and other rfi potential gear. And any lenght I want is nice to cut. I ran out of cable pretty fast tho, it was only 100'

btw - this was unbalanced stuff.
