I guess I sounded like an ass! I re read that post and though I hold the opinions I posted, I didnt mean to look like I was coming down on YOU or assuming anything about YOU...I can see where you thought so though. I was more just getting all cranked up about all the voodoo in audio. I frequently get into arguments with a friend of mine on this and I know you aint him. I guess I get a little too passionate sometimes about something ridiculous and run a little too far with the ball.

I started out trying to be a little sarcastic with you and I guess I got ill instead.

So...Griff....my bad....I'm sorry for the tone in that post and I hope you will understand.

Cables

I'm not saying capacitance and impedance aren't related. I'm just saying don't worry about impedance in a line-level cable in a home studio. We're not talking about RF transmission lines here.
A 20k signal traveling at 70% of the speed of light (say) has a wavelength of about 6 1/2 miles ... a 30-foot cable would be less than .001 wavelengths long. Capacitance probably doesn't matter, either, though it might in some situations (like a 30-foot guitar cord).
