hey folks.
i need a longer version of the cable that connects my esi keycontrol 49 xt to my pc firewire adapter.

anybody know what this cable is called?

it is indeed usb, sorry i thought it was into the pc firewire port. so basically usb out of my keyboard to usb on pc.

only need an extra metre or so, all in all 4-5m

I have found 3m to be the max length for USB 2 for my interface. That is a different ballgame though. I can extend my computer keyboard to 30'. USB extention cables are cheap. You might want to do some Googling to see if there is a limit for your keycontrol. Worse case scenario you can get a booster extension cable for like $30. Let me know what you come up with. I'm curious.

USB active extender cable. About $15.

(Its a 10-20ft cable with a 1-port active usb hub on the end)

I use one with a numeric usb keypad as a 20ft daw controller so I can control Reaper from across the room while recording by myself.
